What is so cool about it

This place has so many cool things about it. Such as the sprit way. This pathway is what conects all the 13 tombs here. This road is 7 kilometers, and along is the lined with statues of guardian animals and officials, with a front gate consisting of a three-arches, painted red, and called the "Great Red Gate". This archway is one of the biggest in all of China.

Farther in, the Shengong Shengde Stele Pavilion can be seen. Inside of it, there is a a 50-ton tortoise shaped dragon-beast carrying a stone tablet. Four white marble Huabiao (pillars of external image China_Sacred_Way_89880b588c8a4d08bcf31c925e86c0ed.jpgglory) are positioned at each corner of the stele pavilion. At the top of each pillar is a mythical beast. Then come two Pillars on each side of the road, whose surfaces are carved with the cloud design, and tops are shaped like a rounded cylinder. They are of a traditional design and were originally beacons to guide the soul of the deceased, The road leads to 18 pairs of stone statues of mythical animals, which are all sculpted from whole stones and larger than life size, leading to a three-arched gate known as the Dragon and Phoenix Gate.

Today there are only 3 of the 13 tombs that are open to the public. There has not been an evacuation since from the year of 1989. But there has been talk about opening more.

Hongwu wanted to elimite all power that could over through him so he got rid of all offices and this put alot more work for the empor to do. From the beganing of the Ming Dynasty money was a problem. The first currency was paper and Emperor Hongwu gave so much of it out it lost more then 80% of its value later they switched to copper coins and counterfeiting made the provinces made there own currency and it still lost value. Starting in 1405 A.D. China started to make sea routes. And like all other Dynasty it started to crumble like the rest. Lost of groups got mad because they were placing little kids on the throne who had no power.
